July 23, 1951 to December 17, 2023
It is with sadness and heavy hearts to announce the passing of Tim Alenius on December 17th, 2023. Tim will be sorely missed by his family and many friends.
Tim was predeceased by his Father and Mother, Carl and Agnus Alenius, his brothers Joe Sharkey (Doreen), Roy (Patricia) and Doug (Liz). Tim is survived by his wife Mona, his brother Gary (Bev), his sister Linda Halladay (Clarence) and his children, Caterina Coffey (Scott) and Nathan.
Tim will be deeply missed by his family and his many friends and co-workers from Commercial Solutions Inc. Tim had many interests and talents away from work. He would spend hours making sure his golf equipment was in tip-top shape for all the many, many rounds of golf each year at the Belvedere Golf and Country Club. Curling would have been Tim’s second love, where there were many road trips for bonspiels and playdowns he participated in. Tim recently spent many hours repairing his Tahoe, he had that old gal running better than it had in years. He also took an interest in helping a dear friend making ice at a couple of rinks around Edmonton. He spent long hours getting the ice ready and the maintenance of the ice for last year’s season, unfortunately, he was just too weak to help out this year’s season.
Tim’s life celebration will be held on Saturday April 20th, 2024 at 1pm at the Thistle Curling Club, 6920 – 114 Ave in Edmonton. Any guests needing accommodations can book with The Four Points by Sheraton – Edmonton Gateway, 10010 – 12 Ave SW by March 19th for the reduced rate 780-801-4000 dial 0.
