Surjit Singh Sidhu
7 May 1935 - 19 July 2023
It is with a heavy heart that the family of Sardar Surjit Singh Sidhu announce his peaceful passing on July 19, 2023, at the age of 88 years.
Born in Jaipur, Rajasthan in India, Surjit Singh immigrated to Canada with his wife and sons in 1993. He lived in Brampton, Ontario for many years before settling in Beaumont, Alberta.
A devoted Sikh and defender of his faith, he was a pillar in the community. Surjit Singh will forever be remembered as a strong and independent person, who would help anyone (family or stranger) that needed it. He lived his life in Chardi Kala to his last breath.
Predeceased by his parents S. Mukand Singh and Mahinder Kaur, and brothers, S. Jagjit Singh and S. Gurmail Singh.
He leaves behind his loving sister, Manjit Kaur, his faithful wife, Kuldip Kaur, his children, Manvinder Kaur (Satinderpaul), Khushwant Kaur (Bikramjit), Tekpal Singh (Ramanjeet), and Gurpreet Singh (Khushwinder), 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services to be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Edmonton Crematorium and Funeral Home 6403 Roper Road, Edmonton, AB T6B 3G6 followed by Antim Ardas and langar at Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Edmonton.
