Shawn Sebastian Hein Elsbury

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Shawn Sebastian “Shorty” Elsbury on March 15, 2025, at the age of 45.

Shawn is survived by his mother, Laila El-Jabiri, and his seven siblings: Ace Kowerchuk, Shaker Kowerchuk, Angel Kowerchuk, Joshua Robinson, Benjamin Robinson, Lovely Robinson, and Summer Salateski.

Born in Bonnyville, AB, Shawn was a beloved son, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed. He will forever be remembered for his kind heart, infectious laughter, and great sense of humor. His fierce loyalty, honesty, and ability to bring light to even the darkest times endeared him to all who knew him.

Family, friends, and all whose lives Shawn touched are invited to attend his funeral service on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Edmonton Crematorium and Funeral Home (6403 Roper Rd NW, Edmonton, AB). The service will begin at 10:30 AM, followed by the burial at 12:45 PM at South Haven Cemetery (5004 Meridian St NW, Edmonton, AB).
