Sabita Latchmidevi Roopnarine

Our mom was a wife of over 55 years to our dad Roger, a mother to Scotia, Ed, Raquel, Ami and Deo, a mother-in-law to Nandita and Amita, a grandmother to Brooke, Maya, Conor and Kailash, and a sister to Partap.

Our mom was the kindest, most generous and caring person you will ever meet. She was the embodiment of kindness, showing empathy, acceptance, thoughtfulness to anyone and everyone. If she saw a homeless person or anyone in need, she would offer to buy them food or give a few dollars to them. 

She was also a deeply religious person, celebrating auspicious events, getting her outfits ready, cooking food, playing Indian prayers in the background and calling all her children to let them know what day it was and to share her excitement.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Edmonton Crematorium & Funeral Home, 6403 Roper Rd NW, Edmonton, AB.
