Ryan Lyons Obituary

Ryan Vaughn Lyons (March 16, 2009) With a deep sense of sorrow and loss our family announces the passing of our son, siblings, cousin, nephew, and friend. On April the 14th, 2025 at 630pm. Ryan passed at the Misericordia hospital in Edmonton Alberta. Ryan, a bright light in the lives of those who knew him, passed away far too soon at the age of 16. Though his time with us was short, Ryan's impact on those around him was profound. With a quick wit and a heart full of love, he brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. From the gaming to everyday life, Ryan's enthusiasm and energy were contagious, and his infectious humor and sweet spirit will be deeply missed. Music was also a big part of his life, with King Von being one of his favorite artists - a bond that transcended generations. Ryan's love for life was evident in the little things – his favorite color, red, was a reflection of his vibrant personality. Despite facing challenges that would have overwhelmed many, including the loss of his beloved grandparents, Ryan remained strong for those around him. But now, he'll get to reunite with them and bask in the love they've been waiting to share with him again. To those who knew him, Ryan was more than just a friend, cousin, nephew, or grandson – he was a shining star who lit up the lives of everyone around him. As his sister (by bond and by heart), I'm honored to celebrate his life and remember the laughter, the adventures, and the memories we shared. Who could forget the dorky smirk and laughter that always seemed to come at the most unexpected times. Or the hours spent creating crafts together, bringing imagination to life. Ryan had a special place in his heart for animals, and the freedom of the bald eagle was something he admired. His family, who loved him more than words can express, includes his parents Andy Lyons and Krista Overy (Socholotuik), his aunt and uncle Carl Skinner/ Irene Skinner (God-Parents), his sister Terri, his cousins Tate Kewon, his grandmother Sherry Socholotuik, his great-grandmother Clara Naidoo, and his aunt Janice Deardoff and Uncle Darcy Deardoff (God-Parents).  Along with many other family members. Though Ryan's time on this earth was brief, his legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched. As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that "Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear." Rest in peace, dear Ryan. Lots of love little bro. May your love, laughter, and spirit continue to inspire us all. Service information: a memorial service will be had at a later date thank you. Our family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at the Misericordia in the ICU 3WEST unit who cared so much for Ryan and helped our family during his time there.
