On August 28, 2025, Richard Finnigan of Edmonton, Alberta passed away peacefully at the age of 81 years after a long illness.
Richard’s memory will be lovingly cherished by his wife of 21 years, Sue Finnigan (nee Oscroft) and his stepson, Graham Christiansen of Edmonton.
Richard is survived by his brother, John Emerson Finnigan of Osoyoos, BC, his son, Brendan Finnigan (Ang) of Edmonton, his daughter, Shelagh Finnigan (Chris Powles) of Paris Ontario, and his grandchildren; Xavier Rodriguez, Corina Rodriguez (Finnigan) of Edmonton, Corbin Finnigan of Edmonton and Chase Corbett of UBC Vancouver, BC.
Special mention to cousin, Ruth recently residing in Squamish, BC, who was a comfort to Richard prior to his move to a care facility.
Richard was predeceased by his father and mother, E. John and Marion Finnigan (nee Aitken) of North Bay, Ontario, as well as grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other family members.
Cremation has taken place according to Richard’s wishes and at his request there will be no funeral service or memorial.
He asked instead that you raise a glass to his memory and if desired, a donation in the name of Richard Finnigan may be made directly to the Alzheimer's Society of Edmonton or to a charity of your choice in his honour.
