RUPRATY POONGAVANUM

July 4, 1933 – August 30, 2023

On August 30, 2023 Rupatry (Baba) Poongavanum passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Grey Nuns Hospital.

She was 90 years old. She was a mother, wife, grandmother, great grand mother and great great grandmother and a friend to many.

She is survived by 10 children, 26 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, 1 sister and a brother and many more who called and knew her as a mother.

She was predeceased by her husband and a daughter.

She was a fierce advocate in her belief, Hinduism, which kept her strong all the way to the end. She will be greatly missed and remembered with fondness and love by all who knew her.

A special thank you to the wonderful staff at unit 43 at the Grey Nuns Hospital.

May her soul rest in peace.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Edmonton Cremation and Funeral Home, 6403 Roper Road NW, Edmonton, AB.
