Pedro Santos Obituary

Pedro Cuevas Santos went to be with his heavenly Father on December 22, 2025, at the age of 89 after a long fight with Subdural Hematoma, Severe COPD/Emphysema, Stomach cancer and other complications, in Edmonton, Alberta.

He was born on May 17, 1936, to Guillermo Santos and Basilia Cuevas Santos in Pateros, Philippines. He married Melania Gonzales Santos, and they had three children, Zoraida, Joselito and Rachel.

Pedro's work ethic shone through his accomplishments. He was able to work at Atlantic Gulf and Pacific as a superintendent managing a team of over 400 workers and engineers, all without an engineering degree of his own. He moved to Canada in 1988 where he would work full time as a structural fitter, retiring after 13 years of excellent service.

Pedro was a man with excellent carpentry skills, a man of few words, but beware of what you say to him because he sometimes tends not to have a filter. He enjoyed traveling back and forth to the Philippines to spend time with his family and especially great-grandchildren, who brought him happiness and were the most important part of his life.

Pedro is survived by his two daughters Zoraida (Dalip), Rachel (Brian), daughter-in-law in the Philippines, Criselda, one granddaughter Venus Jhermel (Mark), two grandsons, Jaynen, Tyler and five great-grandchildren, Jhustine, Jhazlie, Mharcuz, Mattheo and Mailie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Melania, son Joselito, many friends and relatives.

Visitation and Funeral Liturgy will be on Saturday January 3, 2026, at 1:30pm with Reception to follow at Edmonton Crematorium and Funeral Home, 6403 Roper Rd NW, Edmonton, AB T6B 3G6

Interment to follow in the Philippines (Garden of Memories).
