It is with a deep sense of sorrow and loss that our family announces the passing of our son, brother and uncle James Maxton Inglis on Sunday, May 25th, 2025 at 34 years of age.James is survived by his parents Douglas and Connie Inglis, his two older sisters Mykal Inglis and Kendra (and Mitch) McDougall, his four nieces: Sydrah, Poppy, Aubrey and Calla, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that loved him dearly.
The youngest of three, James was a bright, creative and fun-loving boy and young man. Most of his growing up years were spent in Chiang Mai, Thailand where he had many friends at the international missionary school that he attended and where he excelled scholastically as well as played soccer, basketball and volleyball. He enjoyed family holidays to the beach and when in Canada, he loved spending time with his extended family and many cousins on both sides.
He especially enjoyed board games (the longer the better) and loved music of all kinds. After graduating from Grace International School in Chiang Mai, he attended Seattle Pacific University where again he excelled and was very involved in ministries of different sorts. He always had a heart for the underprivileged and downtrodden. He also loved the city of Seattle. It was like a second home for him.Soon after university graduation in 2014, James was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Despite how tortured he was with this disease in the end, how broken his brain, he continued to desire ministry to the downtrodden and those that society had given up on. He had a beautiful and tender heart right to the end.
The Memorial Service for James will be held at the Mill Woods Evangelical Free Church, 1559-80th St. NW, Edmonton, AB, on Saturday, June 14th at 1:30 pm. A light lunch at the church will follow.
