With deep sorrow and love, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother Hasumati Bhatt on August 10, 2025, at the remarkable age of 99.

Hasumati was a cherished matriarch who devoted her life to her family and community. She was the beloved wife of the late Ochhavlal Bhatt, with whom she shared 67 years of her married life.

She is lovingly remembered by her children Vipin, Dharmista, Saroj, and Harrish; her grandchildren Roopal, Rajesh, Neil, Jay, Rajesh, Raoul, and Jumna; her great-grandchildren Nicki, Neil, Edanya, Kiran, Rowan, Aarav, Yogi, Aroosh, Tilak, Luca, and Nola; and her great-great-grandchildren Harman, Savraj, Mannat, and Ayven, as well as all who knew her. 

Hasumati’s love extended to many cherished animals throughout her life. She was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother to a host of beloved pets including dogs, cats, horses, birds, and rabbits.

In 1976, Hasumati immigrated to Canada, where she worked tirelessly for her family and became the cornerstone of many cherished memories. Her presence, warmth, and wisdom touched all who knew her. She found immense joy in family gatherings and passed down traditions, stories, and love across generations. Her legacy of love, resilience, and family devotion lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Forever loved, forever remembered.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Edmonton Crematorium and Funeral Home, 6403 Roper Road, Edmonton, Alberta T6B 3G6. The service will begin at 1:00 PM.
