It is with profound sadness and much love that we say goodbye to our beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, and niece, Diya Kannan who passed away on December 21, 2022, at the age of 19.

Diya will be lovingly remembered by her mother, father, and her younger brother, Nikki, along with her extended family and all who were blessed to know her. Although her time on this earth was far too short, Diya left behind a light that will forever continue to shine in the hearts of those she touched.

A funeral service will be held on December 23, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Edmonton Crematorium and Funeral Home.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors and care team at the Stollery Children’s Hospital, especially Dr. Rehana Chatur for their compassion and dedication.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made in Diya’s name to the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
