Blaine Jonathan Ofukany

It is with profound sadness that the family of Blaine Ofukany announces his passing on October 12, 2025.

Blaine will be forever loved and deeply missed by his devoted wife and life partner, Kelsey Ofukany, their two beautiful boys, Karson and Brady, and their loyal companions Nash and Charlie. He is lovingly remembered by his mother Madonna (Donna) Comrie and stepfather Dave Comrie; Parents in law Kim and Kendra Somerville; sister-in-law Rylee; and brother-in-law Kyle (Sandra).

He also leaves behind his grandparents Evany and John Ofukany; the Ofukany family uncles Brian (Tanya), Sheldon, and Trent (Lindsey) and Blaine’s cousins Matthew, Natalie, Brayden, Alyssa, Madison and Evan.

Aunt’s and Uncles Walsh Family” Mary (Doug), Patsy (Ronnie), Janie, Peggy (Jim), Jimmy (Barb), and Billy (Marilyn) and their families- with special mention to his cousin Teri Chadwick (Jason) and their children and many other cousins from the Walsh Family

Blaine was predeceased by his father Dwayne Ofukany (2022), his brother Michael (2004), grandparents Margaret and Patrick Walsh, mother-in-law Carolyn Hoffman (2019), uncles Leonard, Leo, Pat, Jerry, and aunts Barbara and Kay.

Blaine surrounded himself with the strongest group of friends - more like brothers - including Dustin Horosko, Aaron Kher, James Loree, Brett Meston, and many others. His neighbors, lake friends, Peace River friends, and work colleagues shared a deep bond with him. Blaine was truly loved by so many.

Born on June 20, 1986, and raised in Peace River, AB, Blaine grew up with his brother Michael amid the natural beauty and tight-knit community that shaped his loyal, kind-hearted, and genuine spirit. To those lucky enough to know him, Blaine was a true “beauty” a term he reserved for the best kind of people, and one that perfectly describes him.

After moving to Edmonton, Blaine attended NAIT, studying Construction Engineering. His intelligence, work ethic, and leadership shone throughout his career as a Construction Manager at Deveraux Developments, where he led large-scale projects with precision, integrity, and respect.

A lifelong hockey enthusiast, Blaine played for the Peace River Navigators in his youth. His love for the game carried into fatherhood, where he found immense joy coaching and cheering on Karson and Brady. His happiest moments were spent at the rink, on the lake, or out in nature - hunting, fishing, and making memories with family and friends.

Above all, Blaine’s greatest joy in life was being a dad. His world revolved around Kelsey and their boys. He was endlessly proud of them - always present, always supportive, always leading with love.

Though his passing leaves an unfillable void, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, especially his boys.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Always remembered.
