Barry Alexander Gunraj

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Barry Alexander Gunraj on December 5, 2025 , at the age of 44.

Barry was a beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, and friend whose gentle spirit and kind heart touched everyone who knew him. His memory will be lovingly cherished by his mother Shantie Gunraj, brother Chad Gunraj, sister-in-law Alicia, and his adored nieces Emilie, Alexandra, and Victoria, who brought him immense joy. He will also be remembered with deep affection by his grandmother Jean Gunraj, along with his many uncles, aunts, cousins, and first cousins once removed.

Barry was predeceased by his father Victor Gunraj, eldest brother Alexander Gunraj, grandfather Frank Gunraj; grandfather Girganand Mangru & grandmother Savitri Mangru, and his cherished pet cat Pacha, all of whom he held close in his heart.

Barry’s life was marked by his quiet strength, his unwavering love for family, and his ability to bring light into the lives of those around him. His laughter, kindness, and thoughtful nature will remain a lasting gift to all who had the privilege of sharing in his journey.

A Mass for the Celebration of Life will be held at St. Theresa Church on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, a cremation will take place at Edmonton Crematorium and Funeral Home, 6303 Roper Road, at 1:00 p.m.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from relatives, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. Your kindness has been a source of comfort and strength as they mourn the loss of Barry, whose presence will forever remain in their hearts.
