Life Story of Amarjit Kaur Dhaliwal
Amarjit Kaur Dhaliwal was born on January 10, 1953, in the village of
Gandhuan, India, to her loving parents, Sardar Kirpal Singh and Sardarani
Parsin Kaur. Raised in a close-knit family, she grew up with strong values
rooted in faith, compassion, and dedication to family—qualities that would
guide her throughout her life.
She shared her life with her beloved husband, Late Sardar Shamsher Singh
Dhaliwal. Married in 1976, in the village of Dhulkot, India, together, they built
a home grounded in love, resilience, and mutual respect. Amarjit Kaur was a
devoted wife and a nurturing mother, raising her three sons—Gurmukh Singh
Dhaliwal, Daljit Singh Dhaliwal, and Jaswinder Singh Dhaliwal—with care,
wisdom, and unwavering support.
In 2003, Amarjit, Shamsher and her 2 younger sons moved to Edmonton,
Canada. Moving in with eldest son Gurmukh and his wife Amandeep Kaur
Dhaliwal, they started their journey for a better life. Sooner after she
welcomed her other two daughters-in-law, Ramandeep Kaur Dhaliwal, and
Gurpreet Kaur Dhaliwal. Amarjit always saw her daughters-in-law as her own
daughters, extending her warmth and kindness to every member of her family.
Her family continued to grow with the joy of five grandchildren Gursevak
Singh Dhaliwal, Meher Singh Dhaliwal, Harjhap Singh Dhaliwal, Gurpurtap
Singh Dhaliwal and Birneet Kaur Dhaliwal. and one great-grandson Leo
Singh Dhaliwal, each of whom brought immense happiness and pride into her
life. She cherished her role as a grandmother deeply, creating lasting
memories through her love, guidance, and gentle presence.
Amarjit Kaur also shared a lifelong bond with her siblings—Amrik Singh
Banipal, Malkit Kaur, Surjit Singh, Bhupinder Singh, and Rajvir Kaur.
Together, they carried forward the strong family ties instilled by their parents,
supporting one another through all of life’s moments.
Throughout her life, Amarjit Kaur was known for her generosity, strength, and
quiet grace. She touched the lives of many with her kindness, leaving behind a
legacy of love, unity, and devotion to family.
On April 17, 2026, Amarjit Kaur Dhaliwal passed away peacefully,
surrounded by her loved ones. Though she is no longer physically present, her
spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and
forever remembered.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday April 25, 2026 2:00pm at Edmonton Crematorium and Funeral Home 6403 Roper Rd NW
